The Polish-Lithuanian Real Union is Proclaimed
Under King Sigismund II Augustus's leadership the Polish-Lithuanian real union was proclaimed in 1564 in Lublin. The Commonwealth was born. The treaty established a common king, a common parliament and common foreign policy. Both countries kept their own treasures, national administration and army.
