The Counts of Blois in Chambord

Chambord is the oldest of the many hunt lodges the counts of Blois possess on the forests' outskirts. It is flanked with a priory and a small town. Close by, the manor of Montfrault is used as an accomodation, as well as for the establisement of a stud farm and the maintenance of a venery crew. Some of its ruins are still visible today in the southeastern part of the parc.
