Alexander Farnese, son of the Governess General Margaret of Parma and future Governor General himself, married Infanta Maria of Portugal at Coudenberg Palace on 11 November 1565. The religious ceremony took place in the palace chapel and was followed by a banquet and ball in the Aula Magna.
