The threat of the Teutonic Order brought christian Poland and pagan Lithuania together. Under the Polish-Lithuanian Union established in Krewo, Ladislaus II Jagiello became king of Poland and prince of Lithuania. His marriage with the Queen Jadwiga made the birth of the Union official. Christianisation was then progressing in Lithuania.
